An Affiliate of the Global Entrepreneurship Network

GEN Namibia

Since launching the country's first Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW) campaign in 2011 alongside NUST and JA Namibia, GEN has expanded its grassroots ecosystem building into a formalized, year-round national platform known as GEN Namibia. Established in 2015, the affiliate collaborates with financial leaders, innovation hubs, and key government entities—such as the Ministry of Industrialization and Trade—to align GEN programming with national economic goals. While celebrating the successes and impact of Namibian entrepreneurs during GEW, GEN actively empowers local founders through the Namibian Business Hall of Fame, Startup Huddle, the Entrepreneurship World Cup, and targeted tech training for women supported by UNESCO. GEN works to identify evidence-based public policies and programs that accelerate growth, and enhances collaboration among entrepreneurs, investors, policymakers, researchers and startup community leaders. By cultivating strong local partnerships and connecting homegrown ventures to capital and international delegations, GEN continues to integrate Namibian entrepreneurs into the broader global business landscape making it easier for anyone in Namibia to start and scale a business.

GLOBAL SPOTLIGHT

Entrepreneurs Thrive Here: Global Entrepreneurship Week 2026

Millions of people around the world have the ideas, talent, and ambition to build something better for themselves and their communities — but have never seen entrepreneurship as a path available to them. Global Entrepreneurship Week, taking place November 16-22, 2026, changes that. This campaign meets people where they are and connects them to the networks, tools, and support to take that first step — showing what’s possible in their own communities.
