Are you an established entrepreneur interested in internationalizing your business, creating cross-border B2B links and identifying potential funding sources?
This year the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) is organizing its fourth Global Empretec Summit, which is a gathering of entrepreneurs from around the world, including graduates from the UNCTAD's Empretec program as well as directors and representatives of the Empretec Headquarters. The Summit provides attendees with an opportunity to exchange entrepreneurship experience and explore new markets.
Empretec is a flagship capacity-building initiative of UNCTAD, which aims to promote entrepreneurship and competitive micro, small and mid-sized businesses (MSMEs) for the benefit of sustainable and inclusive development, poverty eradication, as well as women and youth empowerment.
The main goal of the Global Empretec Summit IV is to facilitate establishing cross-border business ventures and broaden the global Empretec network. It will be opened by Ms. Elizabeth Thabethe, Deputy Minister for Small Business Development of South Africa and Ms. Tatiana Krylova, Head of the Enterprise Branch at UNCTAD. The Summit will also include a masterclass on facilitation of business networking skills led by Mr. Alejandro Altieri, an experienced international coach and business trainer.
In the past, the Summit took place in Moscow, Russia (2014), Milan, Italy (2015) and Medellín, Colombia (2016), bringing together all the bright minds of entrepreneurs and Empretec graduates from around the world, creating a number of new partnerships between attending participants.
The Summit will be held by UNCTAD on Wednesday, March 15, 2017, at Sandton Convention Centre, 161 Maude St, Sandton, Johannesburg, 2196, South Africa, as part of the Global Entrepreneurship Congress (GEC). The masterclass will be organized from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and the open networking session will be held from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. To attend the Summit, please register on the Summit event page.
