Dr. Wei Ma is a veteran Silicon Valley technologist with 20+ years of technical management experience. He has worked as director of system research for 8 years in National Semiconductor corporate RD labs NS Labs and 6 years for Texas Instrument’s Kilby Labs, in various technical areas and new business incubation such as automotive, medical, industrial and consumer areas. Before that, he held various positions in a number of medium/small size companies, such as Tritech Microelectronics International and Goldtron Telecom, and also started 2 startup companies Algorex Inc and DeSoC Inc. He is a top expert in signal processing, speech recognition, autonomous driving and electrified automobile systems. Through his innovation careers, he architected a number of big and small chips such as Toshiba DSP TC8900, TD-SCDMA baseband chip, noise cancellation microphone array chip, speaker array chip, Ultrasound medical imaging chipset, automotive battery management chipset and ultralow power neural network voice command detection chip. He is an expert in iterative methodology for fast development of sophisticated technology projects. During 8 years in National Semiconductor, he delivered 10 chip products from brand new concepts to product release and successfully incubated 2 business units: automotive battery management and medical ultrasound imaging.
He received his Ph.D. Degree from University of Surrey, UK, in speech signal processing and MSc/BSc from Xidian University in signal processing and radio communications.
