This year Global Entrepreneurship Week in Japan will launch its campaign on November 10th with a an event organized by MIT Enterprise Forum of Japan and MIT Association of Japan. The keynote speech will be delivered by and Professor Hiroshi Ishii, Associate Director of MIT Media Lab.
Ishii’s address will focus on the innovative research focusing upon the design of seamless interfaces between humans, digital information, and the physical environment. His team seeks to change the "painted bits" of GUIs to "tangible bits" by giving physical form to digital information.
“…our vision of Human Computer Interaction (HCI), seeks to realize seamless interfaces between humans, digital information, and the physical environment by giving physical form to digital information, making bits directly manipulable and perceptible.”
What could that mean for the future? Remember that scene in Minority Report where Tom Cruise’s character interacts with his computer with just hand gestures through the air… yeah, better than that.
