Global Entrepreneurship Week Sweden is off to a good start this year with more than 300 events registered so far. The GEW calendar is filled with a variety of activities that cater to numerous target groups.

As in previous years, one of the main GEW target groups is youths and students. With this in mind, GEW Sweden has chosen to highlight two events that effectively contribute to promoting entrepreneurship among this group.

The following have been chosen as the Flagship Events of GEW Sweden 2014:

Anders Wall Lecture

Jointly organized by Entrepreneurs Academy in Uppsala, Uppsala University and Anders Wall Professorship in Entrepreneurship, the Anders Wall Lecture boasts the title of the largest entrepreneurial event in Sweden. During its eleven-year history, the event has grown into Sweden’s most comprehensive gathering of students, entrepreneurs and distinguished persons from Swedish business life. Anders Wall Lecture brings together the brightest stars of Swedish entrepreneurial scene that inspire around two thousand students every year. Some of the previous years’ speakers are Stefan Persson, H&M chairman of the Board, Niklas Zennström, Skype co-founder and Björn Ulvaeusfrom the Swedish pop band ABBA, to name a few.

This year's keynote speakers are prominent figures of the Swedish entrepreneurial scene - Julia Kalthoff, young and succesful CEO at Wetterlings yxor, Mehrdad Mahdjoubi, the innovator who by the age of 24 already has created the worlds smartest showersystem, and Stina Honkamaa Bergfors, a CEO of United Screens and former CEO of Google Sweden.

Sweden’s Young Entrepreneur

Sweden’s Young Entrepreneur is a business idea competition for young people aged 15 - 25. This annual event aims to highlight brilliant business ideas and inspire future entrepreneurs. The winners of this year’s finals will be chosen in the following categories: “Best idea”, “Best social changemaker” and “Best Company”. The winners of the Sweden’s Young Entrepreneur will receive exclusive prizes that will help move their business ideas forward.

The organizer of the event, Fryshuset Inc, has announced that this year’s guests of honor are Swedish Prince Carl Philip and his fiancée Sofia Hellqvist.
