As a part of Global Entrepreneurship Week, the Global Cleantech Open Ideas Competition seeks out the best early-stage clean technology ideas and helps turn them into successful companies. Powering the Ideas Competition is the team behind its “parent” contest — the Cleantech Open, a full-fledged business competition that offers one winner $250,000 in cash/investment and services.
Recently, the Cleantech Open announced this year’s semifinalists for the 2010 business competition. The 104 teams hail from 22 states and 91 cities — including several veteran companies in the mix, plus plenty of new technologies introduced.
This year’s teams start the Training Program very quickly, with the East Coast Academy offered June 23. The National Academy takes place July 23-25 in San Jose, California. These “cleantech MBA boot camps” are quickly followed by one-on-one consulting sessions, specialty mentoring, special topic seminars, mock judging and more.
Stay tuned for an update on how the semifinalists are progressing — or register for the national conference and see them for yourself on July 22 in San Jose.
